The Muslim Brotherhood: What do the Muslim Association of Canada, Hamas, Hitler and a school in Edmonton have in common?

UPDATES:

UPDATE (re Egypt crisis):

SPECIAL REPORT — A plan by the Muslim Association of Canada  (MAC) to build an Islamic school in Edmonton has revealed the startling, and openly-admitted link between MAC and the anti-Semitic, jihadist movement known as the Muslim Brotherhood as outlined in this highly detailed, comprehensively referenced article by Etienne Harvey and Marc Lebuis of Point de BASCULE, a website devoted to documenting the rise of radical Islam:

This report will focus on the links between the Muslim Brotherhood and terror activities.

Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is the Muslim Brotherhood in Canada

From the MAC website:

About the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC)

MAC’s roots are deeply enshrined in the message of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). Its modern roots can be traced to the Islamic revival of the early twentieth century, culminating in the movement of the Muslim Brotherhood. This movement influenced Islamic activities, trends and intellectual discourse throughout the world including those of Muslims who came to Canada in search of freedom, education and better opportunities.

MAC adopts and strives to implement Islam, as embodied in the Qur’an, and the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and as understood in its contemporary context by the late Imam, Hassan Albanna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. MAC regards this ideology as the best representation of Islam as delivered by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Tarek Fatah comments on MAC and the Muslim Brotherhood

Tarek Fatah is a Muslim and is seen by many as a voice of reason. He is author of The Jew is Not my Enemy and appears regularly on the Michael Coren Show.

He wrote the article, CBC and Jihad for the Calgary Herald:

[…] One has to marvel at the audacity of MAC to endorse Albanna, who proclaimed that armed “Jihad is obligatory on every Muslim,” and that martyrdom in the name of Allah is better than life on earth.

To those of us Muslims who escaped the tyranny of Islamists in the Arab world and South Asia, shivers run up our spine when we see the ease with which MAC and other Islamists can fly under the radar and even manage to appropriate the CBC name and logo in their plans. The question all Canadians should be asking is this: What good is it to send our troops to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan when our own public broadcaster is tricked into according respectability to Islamist organizations that share the same doctrine of Jihad? […]

The world is witnessing a world-wide struggle that is pitting ordinary Muslims against well-funded Islamists. The least the CBC can do is not side with those who wish to implement the Muslim Brotherhood agenda on Canada. […]

So, why is Tarek Fatah getting shivers up his spine? Why are the good folk in West Edmonton rallying?

– ABOUT THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD –

From the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report

According to the (NGO) intelligence group Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report,  “GMBDR is used by U.S. and foreign government analysts in intelligence, military, law enforcement and policy, the expert and academic community and journalists.” This is from their ‘About’ page:

Founded in 1928 by Egyptian schoolteacher Hassan El-Banna, the Egyptian Brotherhood’s served as the wellspring of Islamism and political Islam. Its importance as a ‘springboard’ toward radicalization for individuals such as Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has been widely discussed. Far less known is the existence of a global network of individuals and organizations that developed as Muslim Brotherhood members dispersed to other countries while fleeing the periodic crackdowns on the organization in Egypt.

Many of these Muslim Brothers (Ikhwan) settled in Europe and the United States where they went on to found what have become the some of the most prominent Islamic organizations in their new home countries. Once established, these organizations began seeking legitimacy and have worked to influence and control the development of Islamic discourse and political activity in their respective countries. Less publicly, they are almost always associated with fundamentalism, anti-Semitism, and support for Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and often, Hezbollah. While claiming to disavow al Qaeda linked terrorism, the Ikhwan are at best lukewarm in their condemnation of Islamist violence and commonly issue statements justifying such violence.

  • The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report: About [the Muslim Brotherhood]

From ‘Discover the Networks’

Discover the Networks maintains a comprehensive list of hundreds of left, far left, anti-Israel and terror groups, including the Muslim Brotherhood:

[…] In May 1991 the Muslim Brotherhood issued to its ideological allies an explanatory memorandum on “the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America.” Explaining that the Brotherhood’s mission was to establish “an effective and … stable Islamic Movement” on the continent, this document outlined a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” for achieving that objective. It stated that Muslims “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands … so that … God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.” […]

From the Counterterrorism Blog

The Counterterrorism Blog printed a review of Ian Johnson’s book, A Mosque in Munich: Nazis, the CIA and Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in the West:

For those seeking to understand the origins and agenda of the international Muslim Brotherhood, Ian Johnson’s new book,A Mosque in Munich: Nazis, the CIA and Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in the West provides a fascinating back story to what we see today both in Europe and the United States.

Johnson, a veteran reporter for the Wall Street Journal, uses declassified documents, presidential archives and interviews and archives of survivors from that time to engagingly unravel the history of the first beachhead of radical Islamists in the Western world. As we now know, the international Muslim Brotherhood, with deep ties to that mosque, went on to establish another beachhead in the United States, where it operates today.

Patiently advancing its agenda over decades, the MB legacy groups in the United States made great inroads in the Bush administration and have reached unprecedented influence in the Obama administration. […]

A Mosque in Munich, as Johnson said, “starts during World War II with the Nazis deciding they could use Muslims to fight the Soviet Union. Then, after the war, the very same group of Muslims are recruited by the CIA to do the same thing–fight the Soviets by using Islam. This group is then taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood, which uses Munich as a beachhead to spread into the West. This is twenty years before Afghanistan and the mujahidin; it’s the prequel to a lot of what’s gone on since.

Plus, this continues right up to the present. The Muslim Brotherhood still plays a key role in setting a radical agenda for Islam in Europe. It’s no coincidence that the mosque in Munich is associated with many major terrorist attacks in the West, including the two attacks on the World Trade Center. […]

From the Washington Post — Founder of Muslim Brotherhood a great admirer of Hitler

“…Paul Berman, in his new book “The Flight of the Intellectuals,” makes a solid case that it [the term, ‘facist’] can, with justice, be applied to Hamas. Berman traces Hamas’s intellectual pedigree to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, whose founder, Hassan al-Banna, greatly admired Hitler, and to Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who spent much of World War II in Germany cozying up to Hitler, organizing a Muslim SS unit and, on occasion, remonstrating with the Nazis for not killing enough Jews.

Muslim Brotherhood participated in attempt to exterminate Israel in 1948 after UN Partition

In 1947 the United Nations General Assembly voted to partition Palestine into two areas – one for Jews and one for the Arabs. Unfortunately, Israel never had a chance to live in peace after it was created by the UN. On the day after the state of Israel came into being on May 14/48 it was attacked by Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria who were determined to wipe it from the map. The Arab League Secretary, Abdul Rahman Hassan Azzam, stated on Cairo radio:

“This will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades.”

One of the groups which participated in this war of extermination against Jews was the Muslim Brotherhood:

Brotherhood members fought alongside the Arab armies during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, and, after Israel’s creation, the ensuing Palestinian refugee crisis encouraged more Palestinian Muslims to join the group.

From Public Safety Canada: Terror group Hamas is part of Muslim Brotherhood

The government of Canada lists both Hezbollah (Lebanon) and Hamas (Gaza) as a known terrorist organization under the Criminal Code of Canada that developed from the Muslim Brotherhood [emphasis added]:

Description

Hamas, the Arabic acronym for the group Harakat Al-Muqawama Al-Islamiya, which also means “Zeal”, is a radical Sunni terrorist organization that developed from the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in 1987. It uses political and violent means to pursue the goal of establishing an Islamic Palestinian state in Israel. Since 1990, Hamas has been responsible for several hundred terrorist attacks against both civilian and military targets. Hamas has been one of the primary groups involved in suicide bombings aimed at Israelis in the course of the intifada that started in September 2000.

The Canadian Arab Federation has supported both Hamas and Hezbollah at least as early as 2006 when it issued a foreign policy paper calling on Canada to remove them from its list of banned terror groups:

From Hamas in their own words

Quotes and video of speeches from Hamas leaders calling for the killing of Jews, destruction of Israel, the United States, and the takeover of Europe:

“…that by the grace of Allah, killing a single Jew is the same as killing 30 million Jews.”

Fathi Hammad, Hamas MP, Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas/Gaza) Sept 29/08

“We will wipe out the people of Zion, and will not leave a single one of them.”

From Hamas: it IS the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine

Article 2 of the Hamas Charter clearly states that Hamas is the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine:

Article 2

The Islamic Resistance Movement is the branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine . The Muslim Brotherhood is a global organization and the largest Islamic movement in modern times. It excels in profound understanding and has an exact, fully comprehensive perception 19 [ shumuliyyah ] of all Islamic concepts in all areas of life: understanding and thought, politics and economics, education and social affairs, law and government, spreading [i.e., indoctrinating the tenets of radical] Islam [ da’wah ] and teaching, art and the media, by that which is hidden and by martyrdom [ shahadah ] and in the other areas of life.

From the United Nations: condemnation of Hamas Charter incitement of genocide and its inclusion of quote from Muslim Brotherhood founder

In 2006 the United Nations Human Rights Council accused Hamas of violating the prohibition against the incitement of genocide. The UN statement against Hamas includes these clauses, one of which cites a quote from the Muslim Brotherhood founder in the preface of the charter which calls for the destruction of Israel [emphasis added]:

4. Regarding peace, its Article 13 is totally negative: “Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. […] There is no solution to the Palestinian question except by Jihad. All initiatives, proposals, and International Conferences are a waste of time and vain endeavours.”

5. Religious hatred of Jews (not only of Israel) is espressed by a hadith or ‘saying that concludes Article 7: “The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews) when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say: O Muslims (…) there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.” […]

6. Article 8, the slogan of the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas (widely quoted by clerics and others) is a blueprint for jihadist terrorism: “Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its Constitution; Jihad is its path, and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.”

7. Article 28 widens the circle of hate to include all Jews: […] The Charter in its preface quotes Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, as saying: “Israel will exist and continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”

11. With the Hamas Charter now binding the Palestinian leadership, its call for the destruction of a Member State of the United Nations is in contravention to Article 2 (4) of the 1945 UN Charter. Article 3 (c) of the 1948 Genocide Convention condemns “direct and public incitement to commit genocide,” which is punishable under its article 4. The grave situation in Gaza – and not only in Gaza – is linked to the Hamas Charter of religious and racial hatred, which merits debate at the Human Rights Council as soon as possible.

From The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt – in their own words

World domination

“It should be known that Jihad and preparation towards Jihad are not only for the purpose of fending-off assaults and attacks of Allah’s enemies from Muslims, but are also for the purpose of realizing the great task of establishing an Islamic state and strengthening the religion and spreading it around the world…”

Jihad is the way, death for Allah

“The symbol of the [Muslim] Brotherhood is the book of Allah [the Quran] between two swords. The swords symbolize Jihad and the force that protects the truth represented in Allah’s book.”

“Allah is our goal, the Prophet is our leader, the Quran is our constitution, the Jihad is our way, and the Death for Allah is our most exalted wish.”

Prepare for Jihad

“… there exists an unavoidable personal duty for every Muslim to equip himself and prepare and gear-up towards Jihad…”

VoC Comment

MAC has had its Muslim Brotherhood roots published on its website since at least 2008. They must think Canadians are a pretty stupid, naive bunch — and perhaps we are. That’s why it is important to show them we do care, that we do support those in Edmonton who want to keep MAC and its school out. Please pass on links to the stories below to your contacts:

Many thanks to Marc and Etienne at Point de BASCULE who are helping fight extremism with some vigilant citizens in Alberta.

A tip to those of you in Edmonton fighting this outrageous proposal from Canada’s Muslim Brotherhood from someone who has been smeared by supporters of the Caledonia violence for four years: don’t let the false accusations of ‘racist’ and ‘white supremacist’ intimidate you into silence, but also be sure not to let your temper get the best of you. No swearing. No racial slurs. No violence. Keep it peaceful, but don’t be bullied into silence.

Thanks also to Blazing Cat Fur for making me aware of this important issue and asking for a contribution to the discussion.
