Gary McHale – ‘The Caledonia Crusader’ – appeared on the Brian Lilley Show yesterday with David Menzies to talk about the racist decision by the Supreme Court of Canada to devalue the lives of victims of crime – native and non-Native –  when they and their communities are victimized by repeat native offenders.

After taping the show earlier in the day at the SUN studio in Toronto Gary and Christine McHale, along with Caledonia hero Merlyn Kinrade (all of Canadian Advocates for Charter Equality – CANACE); Mark Vandermaas (Israel Truth Week/Caledonia Victims Project); Al Gretzky & Mary Lou Ambrogio (International Free Press Society); and members of the Hamilton-based Never Again Group spent the rest of the day at the Israel Consulate on Bloor Street to support the Jewish Defence League’s call to rally against planned protests by anti-Semitic forces  in connection with the so-called, ‘Global March to Jerusalem.’

VoiceofCanada’s 21 minute course: ANTI-ISRAEL PROPAGANDA 101

Ethnic cleansing of Palestinians or a struggle for survival against genocidal anti-Semitism?mortar-diploma-key

UPDATED Dec 15/11 — In this short course, which should take you no more than 21 minutes or so to complete, you’ll learn how to distinguish fact from fiction before entering into any debate on the Middle East issue, and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you will likely be the most informed person in the room.

Take your time to explore the references cited. Fact check them on your own, but be prepared to be both challenged and repulsed by the enormity of the historical fabrications being foisted on the naive and gullible as part of the war to destroy the state of Israel and her Jews.

LESSON 1: How Israel came into existence – the Palestinian version

The video below can (as of 11:41pm July 15/11) be found in the right side margin of the ‘Uprooted Palestinians‘ website above a cartoon showing two smiling ‘Hamas’ terrorists looming large over a cowering Israeli soldier. It is typical of the claims made by the anti-Israel side:

At 1:43 the video begins to discuss ‘The Nakba (1948)‘ and goes on to say, ‘During the Nakba hundreds of massacres were committed by Zionist terror gangs.

At the 2:00 min mark the producer states: “During the Nakba around 80% of the Palestinians were expelled from their home and made refugees by Zionist terror gangs.”

At 2:40 it asserts, “During the Nakba 531 Palestinian villages & towns…were ethnically cleansed & destroyed.” The producer shows dead bodies as ‘proof’ of the Jewish atrocities against the innocent Arabs:

LESSON 2: How Israel came into existence – the Israeli version

Now that you’ve watched the pro-Palestinian version of events, consider this one by ‘Prager University,’ operated by Dennis Prager, a graduate of the Middle East Institute at Columbia University:

Jacob Peretz to London Free Press: Coverage of Gaza boat story shameful as voyage itself

Jacob Peretz, June 25/11, Day 3 of Blue Beret vigil vs London Muslim Mosque support for Cdn Boat to HamasLetter to London Free Press submitted by resident, Jacob Peretz, who was the first member of the London Jewish community to show support for the Blue Beret vigil outside the London (Muslim) Mosque, on Day 3 – June 25/11 (I have made some minor typographical corrections).

Jacob sent a copy to me after it appeared in the LFP.

Middle East

Gaza

I would like to submit a letter Letter to the editor July 5, 2011. The London Free Press (LFP), daily coverage of the “Canadian boat to Gaza” is shameful as is the voyage itself.

Billed as a humanitarian voyage to aid the people of Gaza against “Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza”, this trip is nothing but a provocation against the legitimacy of the state of Israel. The people of Gaza are proud to say that they democratically elected this Hamas government and the world has to accept their votes. These people then have to live with the consequences of a government bent on the destruction of Israel and the elimination of the Jewish people all over the world.

Mark Vandermaas letter to Hamilton Spectator: ‘Genocidal anti-Semitism is the issue’

Mark Vandermaas letter to Hamilton Spectator, June 27/11: Genocidal anti-Semitism is the issue

On Day 5 (June 27/11) of my ‘Blue Beret’ vigil at the London (Ontario) mosque vs. its support for the Canadian Boat to Hamas, the Hamilton Spectator published a letter to the editor from me, giving it prominence at the top of the Letters page. They did not change a word. Unfortunately, the letter is not available on-line at TheSpec.com .

‘Genocidal anti-Semitism is the issue’

 by Mark Vandermaas, June 27/11
Letter to the Editor of Hamilton Spectator, Ontario, Canada

Re: ‘An opportunity for lasting peace’ by George Sorger (June 22/11)

Beersheva kindergarten class after rocket attack from GazaAs a former U.N. peacekeeper (Egypt, 1978) I would like to point out several key facts those who espouse the wishful suggestion that peace will come if Israel withdraws to pre-1967 borders prefer to ignore:
.
1. The state of Israel was attacked by multiple Arab armies the day after it announced its independence on May 14, 1948 following its U.N. sanctioned creation as part of a two-state solution. This was nearly 20 years BEFORE Arabs failed again to destroy her in 1967 when Israel seized the West Bank during combat. In 2005 Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip and was rewarded by a hail of rockets directed at its civilians from Hamas which continue to this day.

MEDIA RELEASE: Former Blue Beret to protest London (Ontario) Muslim Mosque support for Canadian Boat to Hamas

– DAILY UPDATES & PHOTOS: CLICK HERE –

JClick image for daily updates and photosIn response to the latest campaign to delegitimize the state of Israel by Canadian anti-Israel activists — the attempt to break Israel’s naval blockade of weapons to the Hamas terrorist organization now underway via the ‘Canadian Boat to Gaza’ — former UN peacekeeper and VoiceofCanada editor Mark Vandermaas will be conducting a series of public protests at the London (Ontario) Muslim Mosque to draw attention to the little-known facts that the state of Israel was created by a 1947 vote of the United Nations General Assembly, and that the UN Committee for Human Rights has condemned the Hamas Charter for its genocidal objectives towards Jews and the state of Israel.

The London Muslim Mosque has provided support for the ‘Canadian Boat to Gaza’ (the Tahrir). According to the Canadian Boat to Gaza website, the mosque has held a fundraising dinner for the Tahrir, and its Operations Manager will be sailing on board.

United Nations flag“As a former peacekeeper I feel compelled to defend Israel’s right to exist in peace,” says Mr. Vandermaas. “The people of London should be concerned that a religious institution in their community such as the London Muslim Mosque is playing a key role in supporting an effort that, if successful, will make it possible for the Hamas terrorist organization to import even more arms for the purpose of carrying out its stated objective of killing Jews and seeing Israel “obliterated.””

In this photo, Mark Vandermaas is taking her picture as Christine takes a picture of the crowd of supporters for one of his ‘Blue Beret’ vigil/protests across the street from the London (Ontario) Muslim Mosque, June 25/11.

Christine and her husband Gary (photo, below) were honoured by award-winning journalist & author Christie Blatchford with an acknowledgement in her 2010 groundbreaking book, Helpless: Caledonia’s Nightmare of Fear and Anarchy, And How The Law Failed All of Us for their extensive assistance to the book.

Helpless tells of how Christine has been an unwavering partner for Gary’s quest to end racial policing in Caledonia against incredible odds. She has been there at every step of the way. On Dec 01/07 she by his side when Six Nations smokeshop supporters viciously swarmed and attacked Gary sending him to the hospital. Incredibly, instead of blaming those responsible for the violence, former OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino told the public that it was Gary’s fault and ordered his officers to target him for a criminal charge – and not to “get bogged down with legal nuances” to do it.

100421 Gary & Christine McHale on steps of Hamilton courthouse after Crown dropped infamous 'Counselling Mischief Not Committed' chargeThis photo of the two together was taken April 21/10 on the steps of the Hamilton Courthouse after the Crown dropped the infamous ‘Counselling Mischief Not Committed’ charge eventually laid against him – which took place shortly after two senior OPP officers – including the present commissioner Chris Lewis – were ordered by a judge to face charges of Obstructing Justice in his case. The story about the OPP’s persecution of Gary McHale is a favourite of Blatchford’s when she is invited to speak.

According to a statement by Hamas MP and Cleric Yunis Al-Astal the Jews were brought to Palestine for the “great massacre” in preparation for the United States of Islam caliphate for which Palestine will be the capital:

SPECIAL REPORT: Dramatic increase in Palestinian targeting of Israeli civilians prelude to unified Arab attack?

UPDATED 1301 April 20/11 — 110323 Grad rocket fired from Gaza stripSince January 2010 there has been a dramatic escalation in Palestinian targeting of Israeli civilians via rockets, mortars and terror attacks, coupled with a steady stream of incitement of hate against Jews and Israel from official Palestinian sources.

Hamas has launched 370 rocket attacks since January 2009, 90 in the months of March and April alone.

It seems likely that Israel’s leaders will be be forced, sooner or later, to take strong action to stop the attacks against their citizens by once again attempting to degrade Hamas’ military capabilities as they did in Operation Cast Lead in 2008/2009.

Indeed, the Israeli Air Force has already targeted launching sites in the Gaza strip which had fired rockets at the town of Ashdod.

The confluence of Mid-East events leads one to wonder if Palestinians are deliberately provoking the Israelis as part of a strategic plan involving a coordinated attack against Israel and/or a longer-term plan to strengthen support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Arab countries currently facing popular revolts against despotic and/or western-friendly regimes.

Let us examine events leading up to the recent mass rocket attacks on Israel conducted between March and April of this year.

Palestinian terrorists murder Fogel Family

Jewish apathy decried at Fogel family massacre memorial in Hamilton

110411 Fogel family massacre memorial, Adas Israel Congregation of Hamilton, April 11/11. Click to enlarge. The massacre of five members of the Fogel family a week ago sent shock waves through Jewish communities around the world. Three small children aged 11; four and just three months old were savagely murdered in their beds. The parents, Udi and Ruth were also murdered. […]

Details of the grisly massacre have been revealed. The murderers stabbed the mother after she saw her husband and baby with their throats slit. The other two children clenched their little fists as they were brutally stabbed to death in their beds. They clenched their fists, what else could they do against these men armed with knives? The murderers missed one of the bedrooms so the two-year-old and the six-year-old were spared death; instead, they found their parents and siblings, lying bloodied and dead. The 12-year-old daughter who had been out with friends came home to find her two-year-old brother screaming over his parents bodies.

Fogel family memorial

Last night I attended a memorial service for the Fogel family which was slaughtered in their home like animals by Palestinian butchers on March 11/11. It was a simple, moving ceremony which looked to the future to a day without such hatred, but one speaker – Gary Gerofsky of the ‘Never Again Group’ – struck a resonant chord with his quiet, but firm condemnation of Jewish leaders who refuse to support those in the community who actively confront those who lie, hate, and incite against Jewish people and the state of Israel and who, by doing so, get in the way of the productive activism needed to counter what Gerofsky calls the “Islamist and radical leftist hate.”

As someone who works to counter appeasement of native extremism and hate supported by the very same radical leftists, anarchists and anti-Semitic groups I knew, halfway through Gerofsky’s speech, that I was compelled to ask if he would allow me to post his words here on VoiceofCanada.

(Note: the bolded text is in the original. I took the liberty of adding the title since Mr. Gerofsky provided me with his raw notes that did not include a title).

We need not  accept leaders who excuse demonization and get in the way of activism

by Gary Gerofsky, Never Again Group
Fogel family memorial, Adas Israel Congregation, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
April 11, 2011  [PDF]

As we gather here today to memorialize the Fogel family, I am reminded of the 1972 Munich massacre of eleven Israeli Olympians by Fatah. I am also reminded of the 1985 Achille Lauro hijacking where wheelchair-bound American tourist, 69-year-old Leon Klinghoffer, was killed by Palestinian terrorists. I also recall the countless terrorist bombings, wars, and “intifada’s” that the Palestinians inflicted and continue to inflict on Israelis in Israel and on Jews internationally – a military and ideological war that has gathered strength over the years but began long before the so-called Israeli “occupation” existed. Now the issue of disputed land is used as the excuse to justify savage killing. The Arabs own more than 99% of the Middle East along with the valuable resources and so land is not and has never been the real issue.

YouTube removes Palestinian Authority “hate speech” but…

"This video has been removed as a violation of YouTube's policy prohibiting hate speech."

BULLETIN: YouTube restores Palestinian Media Watch channel

YouTube has removed a user channel containing videos of official Palestinian Authority statements promoting hate and violence against Jews and the state of Israel, calling the material “hate speech”

Viewers who click on links to videos such as these are now greeted with this message:

“This video has been removed as a violation of YouTube’s policy prohibiting hate speech. Sorry about that.”

VoC Comment: the ironic ‘catch’ to this story…

While one must be gratified by YouTube’s vigilance in policing hate speech on its system, the ironic catch to this story is that the videos were actually posted by an organization that monitors official Palestinian media so that the rest of the world can understand how the Palestinian Authority directly incites violence and hate against Israel and Jews with the most disgusting of material.

Palestinian Authority: Death to Arabs who sell land to Jews

One wonders where all the so-called ‘peace’ and ‘anti-racist’ activists will be protesting against this latest outrage from what passes for Palestinian justice:

The Palestinian Authority on Sunday reaffirmed the death penalty for any Palestinian found guilty of selling land to Israelis. The decision came in response to a ruling by a Palestinian court according to which such acts were only a “minor offense.” PA Prosecutor-General Ahmed al-Mughni appealed against the ruling to a higher court, arguing that the sale of land to Israelis was a “major offense” punishable by death. The appeal was accepted.

That verdict considering such offenses a major offense is aimed at reminding Palestinians of the PA law that prohibits selling land to Jews. […]
